Almighty and everlasting God, you have brought us in safety to this new beautiful day; and you have brought us all to this gathering here in this stimulating and eclectic city named after that radical Italian saint, St. Francis, who called us to preach the Gospel always and use words only when absolutely necessary. Today we celebrate and give you thanks for the creative ways that the faculty, staff, and friends of “Westmont in SF” have preached the Gospel into the lives of students and embodied the Gospel in the city. We especially give thanks for Rusty Springer. We ask that you pour your blessings upon Rusty and upon all those whose lives have been touched and transformed by this program over the last 50 years and all those whose lives will be touched and transformed in the years to come. Just as you manifested your power in the patron saint of this city so may you continue to manifest your loving, liberating, and life-giving power in them and through them, in us and through us. Bless this time and in all we do direct us to the fulfilling of your purpose through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
